Looking to cap off 2023 with some holiday curling excitement? Whether you have family and friends visiting, or you're itching to test out that new curling gear from under the tree, join us for our Friends & Family Holiday Funspiel on the nights of December 28th & 29th!
This event is open to all members, their friends, and family. We welcome curlers of every skill level, including our Junior Members to join!
It's an individual registration event – so no full team sign-ups. However, if you'd like to play with a specific person, simply let us know in the comment section of your registration. Sign up solo, and we'll randomly assign you to a team alongside other curlers. It's a fantastic chance to play with and meet someone new on the ice!
During registration, indicate your top two preferred positions and your curling experience level. We'll do our best to create balanced teams! Each team is guaranteed at least three games over the two nights.
We kick off on Thursday, December 28th at 5:30 PM. Teams can expect to play in two 6-end games that evening. On Friday night, also starting at 5:30 PM, there will be three 4-end draws, including the championship games.
The $30/person helps cover snacks and prizes for the event. You can also look forward to some fun off-ice activities between draws!
The spiel has room for 48 curlers - but spectators are also encouraged to come drop in to watch or join in on the other off ice festive activities.
Sign up today!
The Everest NS Curling Club Championship Mayflower Playdown will begin January 6-7, 2024. Additional dates to be determined by the club based on the number of teams registered. The winner (and possibly 2nd place team) will represent Mayflower at the NS Provincial Curling Club Championship (Men's in Bridgewater Feb 22-26 & Women's in Digby Feb 29 - Mar 3, 2024).
We are no longer accepting registration for this event
The development league is open to non-members and members with the aim of developing skills on the ice in a relaxed and social environment. This is a great opportunity for anyone whether you have only curled once or twice, recently finished the learn to curl program, or have curled for a few years and want to try out a different position or you're just looking for something fun to do on Saturday afternoon!
This league is individual sign up - teams will be made up each Saturday before the draw. However, if you have others you want to play with we'll do our best to ensure you are assigned to a team together each week.
Equipment is provided thanks to support from Sport Nova Scotia. Just be sure to bring a pair of clean sneakers and warm and comfortable clothing!
Games will run each of the following Saturdays from 3:00PM-5:00PM:
Participants are welcome to enjoy the upstairs bar and lounge following their game.
Registration will be open first to participants in our current learn to curl program, before being open to members and then the public.

Founded in 1905, the Mayflower Curling Club is a landmark in Halifax's rich history. In 1912 the ice shed was used as a morgue for victims of the infamous Titanic sinking, and just five years later the club was destroyed in the devastating Halifax explosion. The Mayflower, which houses six sheets of ice for leagues of all levels, is one of the most well-known clubs in Canada. We embrace all levels of curling from beginners to competitive and we hope to see you on the ice soon.
