Novice Strategy Clinic with Celina Thompson

Join us for a novice-focused strategy clinic hosted by Celina Thompson. This interactive session combines off-ice instruction and on-ice learning to help you build confidence, improve decision-making, and deepen your understanding of the game.

Celina is fantastic at breaking things down and answering questions, so come ready to learn, participate, and put some of what you learn into practice on the ice.

Topics will include:

• Introduction to Strategy – Learn how to set up an end, think ahead, and make shot selections as the game unfolds.
• Team Communication – Explore how skips, sweepers, and throwers can communicate effectively and work together throughout an end.
• Rules & Game Situations – Review important rules and discuss common situations you may encounter during league play.
• On-Ice Application – Work through examples and game situations on the ice to put strategy into practice.

This is a great opportunity for novice curlers looking to develop a better understanding of the game in a supportive and interactive environment. You do not need to be on a Tuesday Night Novice team to participate — novice curlers and team members from other league nights are welcome.

Members: $45 + tax
Non-Members: $55 + tax

The clinic includes both on-ice and off-ice components, so please bring your curling gear.

Advance registration is required so we can plan appropriately and ensure the clinic runs smoothly.

2026–2027 Opening Spiel

September 25–26, 2026

Kick off the 2026–2027 curling season with the Mayflower Curling Club Opening Spiel!

Join us for a fun weekend back on the ice, reconnect with fellow curlers, shake off the summer rust, and get the new season underway.

The spiel is open to all skill levels, whether you're a seasoned curler or just getting started. Each team is guaranteed a minimum of three games over the two-day event.

Registration is individual sign-up. If you already know who you'd like to play with, please list your preferred teammates in the comments section when registering. Don't have a team? No problem — sign up individually and we'll help place you on a team.

Make a night of it on Saturday! The kitchen will be open, and we'll keep the fun going off the ice with Karaoke Saturday Night.
