As we prepare for an exciting new chapter with our relocation to Timberlea, we’re thrilled to officially launch the Locker Naming Campaign – a unique opportunity for members and supporters to make a lasting impact on the future of the Mayflower Curling Club!

How It Works:

By donating $100, you can have your name – or the name of a loved one, team, or group – displayed as a donor on a locker in our brand-new facility. It’s a small way to make a big difference and cement your legacy as a part of our history. Whether you’ve curled here for years or are new to the club, this is your chance to leave a mark for generations to come.

Why Participate?

The funds raised through this campaign will directly support the construction and outfitting of our new facility. The success of this campaign is vital in ensuring our club remains sustainable, accessible, and well-equipped to continue providing the best possible experience for curlers and the community.

What You Get:

  • Your name or chosen inscription on a locker in our new clubhouse
  • Recognition as a supporter of this important chapter in Mayflower’s journey
  • The satisfaction of knowing you contributed to the future of curling at our club!

How to Get Involved:

To donate a locker, visit the National Sport Trust Fund (NSTF) web site. Lockers are $100/locker. All donations through the NSTF website should be directed to “Mayflower Curling Club – New Facility Construction” on the website's drop-down menu. All tax-deductible contributions are subject to a 3.5% processing fee. The website asks contributors if they would like to round up their donation to cover the 3.5% processing fee.

Direct cash or check donations can be made by accessing this link to submit donations through the NSTF and receive a charitable receipt. Cash or cheque donations can also be made at the Club. These direct donations will not result in a tax receipt.

Once your donation is confirmed by the NSTF, a member of our Fundraising Committee will reach out to you a month later to confirm what inscription you would prefer and to confirm which item/s you'd like your donation to be allocated towards.

Join Us in Securing the Mayflower’s Legacy

As we say goodbye to Monaghan Drive, let’s look ahead together with optimism and enthusiasm. Whether you’re an individual, a family, a team, or a group of friends, this is a chance to come together and contribute to something special.

Don’t miss out – locker availability is limited and is expected to go fast. Be part of the Mayflower’s future while celebrating the past.

Thank you for your ongoing support, and let’s build a bright future for our club together!

13 March 2020

Dear Mayflower Members:

The Board met this evening to make the difficult decision to end the curling season effective Sunday, March 15 at 8:00pm. This decision was made in response to the growing awareness of the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic and information provided by the Nova Scotia Department of Health and Wellness, Nova Scotia Curling Association, Sport Nova Scotia and the actions taken by our neighbouring curling facilities.

This decision was made to protect our members, guests, and staff.  Members will have an opportunity to collect their gear from the locker room in the coming week. Look for communication on this next week.

This will also likely impact the timing of the Annual Meeting, planned for 08 April 2020. Again, we will communicate a new date once more is known.

Thank you for your understanding. If you have any additional questions, please reach out to a Board member.

Club Information

Founded in 1905, the Mayflower Curling Club is a landmark in Halifax's rich history. In 1912 the ice shed was used as a morgue for victims of the infamous Titanic sinking, and just five years later the club was destroyed in the devastating Halifax explosion. The Mayflower, which houses six sheets of ice for leagues of all levels, is one of the most well-known clubs in Canada. We embrace all levels of curling from beginners to competitive and we hope to see you on the ice soon.
