A member's seasonal fee comprises three components.

The first component is a league-specific fee for participation in each of the various leagues in which a member is registered.  The amount of this fee varies by league -- from as low as $65 for the Seniors League to as much as $195 for Men's Tuesday Evening Team Entry League.

The second component is based on the type of membership:

  • $200 for those who participate in any of YCC's adult leagues (referred to as the "Club Fee");
  • $45 for those who seek only social membership privileges
  • $115 for those who seek only practice-ice privileges

The third component is based on when YCC receives an application for league participation. Specifically, applications received after our registration period has formally closed (Sept 16 will be the deadline for the 2014/15 season) are exposed to a $30 late fee.

Tweaks for Non-Standard Membership Types

YCC has a few categories of membership that are not generally available. Specifically these are:

Honourary Social Member. No fee is levied on an individual who seeks social membership and who has been conferred honourary social membership status by the club's Board of Directors.

Adult Designated Member and Youth Designated Member. These membership types require an exercise of discretion by the club's Board of Directors. The fee rate varies and is part of this Board discretion.

York Curling Club offers a variety of house and competitive leagues to give every curler an opportunity to participate at their skill level. See below* for more information about each league and visit our Membership page for information on registration and fees.

Club Information

Founded in 1905, the Mayflower Curling Club is a landmark in Halifax's rich history. In 1912 the ice shed was used as a morgue for victims of the infamous Titanic sinking, and just five years later the club was destroyed in the devastating Halifax explosion. The Mayflower, which houses six sheets of ice for leagues of all levels, is one of the most well-known clubs in Canada. We embrace all levels of curling from beginners to competitive and we hope to see you on the ice soon.
