Junior Membership Categories & Descriptions

Saturday Junior Recreational League (season starts in October):

Our Junior Leagues include:

Little Rocks (U8 / Helmets are Mandatory):

  • For youths that are under 8 years old as of July 1/2022
    • Minimum age is 6 on July 1/2022
  • Saturdays from 9 to 9:45am
  • These curlers use light rocks on a half sheet of ice
  • The sessions include a warm up, on ice instruction and some game/drills with the focus on FUN!

 

U11 (Helmets are Mandatory):

  • For youths that are less than 11 years old as of July 1, 2022
  • Saturdays from 9 to 10:30am
  • This group uses light rocks on a full sheet of ice and sometimes full size rocks as they develop their skills
  • The sessions include warm up, on ice instruction, regular game play and mini-games

 
U13 (Helmets are Mandatory):

  • For youths that are 11 or 12 years old as of July 1, 2022
  • Saturdays from 10:30-12noon
  • This group uses full sized rocks on a full sheet of ice
  • The sessions begin with a land based warm up followed by instruction and game play

 
U15/U18:

  • For youths that are 13-18 years old 
  • Saturdays from 12:30-2:30pm
  • This group combines the U15 and U18 age groups and they are on the ice for 2 hours
  • Sessions include warm up, instruction and game play (6 ends)

 

Jr SUPER LEAGUE - [email protected] 5:30pm!!!

  • Team Entry
  • TUESDAY nights starting in October 2022
  • All draws at 5:30 pm
  • 6 end games
  • This membership fee includes: Junior Super League, Access to Practice Ice through our online booking system and Saturday Recreational League

Interested in Playing in Adult Leagues?

  • Acceptance into regular leagues other than the Junior Curling Program(s) must be approved by the Director of Junior Curling and is dependent upon space availability as determined by the Curling Director.

Club Information

Founded in 1905, the Mayflower Curling Club is a landmark in Halifax's rich history. In 1912 the ice shed was used as a morgue for victims of the infamous Titanic sinking, and just five years later the club was destroyed in the devastating Halifax explosion. The Mayflower, which houses six sheets of ice for leagues of all levels, is one of the most well-known clubs in Canada. We embrace all levels of curling from beginners to competitive and we hope to see you on the ice soon.
