Opening Spiel
Dust off those curling shoes and brooms! It is time to kick start the 2023/2024 Curling
Season at the Mayflower. Come join this fun opening event to freshen up before league
play and to meet other members of the club!
This event is open to all levels of curlers. It will be individual registration only - no team
sign up! Sign up as an individual and you will be randomly assigned a team with
other Mayflower Members. This is a great opportunity to play with and meet
someone you may have never curled with or against!
When completing your registration, you will need to indicate your two top preferred
positions as well as your level of curling experience - we'll do our best to accommodate and make the teams as evenly
matched as possible! Each team will be guaranteed at least three six end games over
the weekend.
Things will be scheduled to start on Saturday, September 23 at 12:00 PM. The
schedule for the games will be determined based on registration a head of time.
The $30 fee will cover the cost of pizza Saturday afternoon as well as some prizes!
There will also be a round or two of Trivia Saturday night!

Club Information
Founded in 1905, the Mayflower Curling Club is a landmark in Halifax's rich history. In 1912 the ice shed was used as a morgue for victims of the infamous Titanic sinking, and just five years later the club was destroyed in the devastating Halifax explosion. The Mayflower, which houses six sheets of ice for leagues of all levels, is one of the most well-known clubs in Canada. We embrace all levels of curling from beginners to competitive and we hope to see you on the ice soon.
