MAYFLOWER CURLING CLUB IS PLEASED TO CONFIRM WE WILL AGAIN OFFER ANOTHER SEASON OF YOGA PRACTICE FOR ITS MEMBERS.
For the past 7 years, Mayflower has been hosting a drop in yoga practice for curlers and their families. Yoga helps athletes to become stronger, more flexible and will contribute to your off-season training, while at the same time introducing ways to reduce stress and improve harmony in your everyday life.
We are pleased to confirm Renee Auffrey (who has led our classes for the past 4 years) will once again lead our practice. She focuses on posture, flexibility, core strength and breathing strategies that will assist you in enhancing your sport performance, and over all well being.
Our Yoga practice is suitable for new and intermediate level participants, and you are encouraged to move within your own comfort level. Yoga is a mind-body practice designed to improve overall health, strength, flexibility, and mental clarity in people of all ages and fitness levels. Athletes praise yoga for its ability to improve endurance and personal focus during competition. Create a healthy, supple body while you work at your own pace.
Our hour long sessions will be held upstairs in the club, on Wednesday evenings this year, starting May 17th at 6:30 pm and continue to mid August. You will need to bring your own yoga mat or towel, loose fitting clothing and water, as the upstairs does get warm during the summer months.
Cost for the class is the same as last year. $7.00 per session for drop in, or if you pay for the entire 14 classes up front ($70), each class will cost $5.00. Junior curlers will still be able to drop in for $5.00 per class.
Come out, have some fun, and participate in classes specially designed to enhance your curling strength, flexibility and focus.
